| About Ambiance Travel Consulting How we started: Ambiance Travel was established in October 2003 as a creative outlet for Nina's travel planning hobby. Having arranged travel for herself and family over the years Nina and her husband James decided it was time to make a business out of it. With Nina as primary travel consultant and James as back office and technical support they aligned themselves with Carlson Wagonlit Travel for two years to learn the ropes. After several training courses and setting up an office, Ambiance Travel excepted it's first clients. They now have over 400+ vacations under their belt encompassing honeymoons, family vacations, group trips, anniversary getaways, destination weddings, leisure vacations and business trips to countries around the world. After limiting business for a few months in 2006 to grow our family and restructure the business, Ambiance Travel was reborn in Spring of 2007 as a Travel Consulting Firm. Changes included a new affiliation with Dolphin Travel to gain access to the prestigious Virtuoso travel network and a more defined list of Preferred Partners that we felt more comfortable offering to our clients. Different from the average Travel Agency we don't just book your vacation, we spend a lot of time with you asking many questions to help create the perfect customized itinerary. Our other services include: shore excursion and sightseeing recommendations, packing tips, flight schedule checks, reconfirming of all details 48 hours prior to your departure, 24/7 emergency support while traveling, price reduction checks, client personalized consultations either by phone, email, or in person at a place convenient to you (within reasonable distance) available to answer all your questions before, during and after your trip. We often spend between 6 to 8 hours consulting, researching and arranging a customized itinerary for our clients in addition to support. Because of this we have decided to limit the number of client's we service each month and will only accept new clients by referral, invitation or as time permits. We have also instituted set service fees . These fees are non-refundable and covers our time and expenses in the event of a cancellation or complete change of mind after a full trip itinerary has been presented. (ie. You plan a cruise around Europe and then decide to take a tour instead.) We feel these new policies will help insure that our clients continue to receive the amount of time and high level of service they have come to appreciate from Ambiance Travel. Ambiance in 2008 & 2009 2008 brought us both rewards and new challenges. The joyous arrival of our son Bennet was very early and meant an emergency maternity leave for Nina in the fall. But her hard work prior to that earned us National Account status with Cunard Line, so not only are we experts of the product we are also highly regarded by them as well. This gives us access to special last minute fares and spectacular support to assist with our clients needs. While Ambiance Travel was essentially closed for 3 months of the winter while Bennet was in the hospital and at home recovering Nina came back to find our client base not only intact but ready for her to plan their travels. We like to think the reason behind the loyalty and support is the attentive and friendly service they have received from her. We are very excited about 2009 and expect with all the great travel opportunities out there to send our clients on some fabulous trips!
Professionally: We are certified by the Cruise Line International Association (CLIA), affiliate members of the prestigous Virtuoso luxury travel network, are Cunard Certified Experts and hold specialist certificates for many of our preferred partners and destinations. In our continued effort to keep informed of the latest in travel we spend several hours each month taking continued education courses, reading trade magazines as well as consumer travel publications. We are a family business and family is very important to us. Our three beautiful children come first in our lives and if we can not be reached immediately by phone it is most likely we are taking time off to spend together as a family.
